Sheikha Mahra Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the daughter of Dubai’s ruler, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has publicly announced her divorce from her husband, Sheikh Mana Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid bin Mana Al Maktoum, on Instagram. This shocking declaration comes just over two months after the couple welcomed their first child.

In an explosive Instagram post, Sheikha Mahra wrote: “Dear husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.” She has also removed all photos with her husband from her Instagram account, sparking a frenzy on social media. Many noticed that the couple unfollowed each other and deleted all pictures of each other from their profiles, with some speculating that they may have blocked each other.

Sheikha Mahra and Sheikh Mana married in May last year and celebrated the birth of their daughter a year later. The Dubai princess had previously shared joyful moments from the hospital after childbirth, thanking her doctor and the hospital staff for their care. In now-deleted photos, Sheikh Mana was seen standing by her side, holding their newborn daughter.

The divorce announcement follows weeks after Sheikha Mahra posted a cryptic message on Instagram, cuddling with her baby and writing, “Just the two of us.” This may have hinted at underlying issues in their marriage. The news has generated varied reactions from netizens, with some praising her decision and others expressing surprise and concern.

Sheikha Mahra is known for her advocacy in women’s empowerment and support for local UAE designers. She holds a degree in International Relations from a UK university and has also studied at the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Administration College. She is one of the 26 children of the Dubai ruler and has Emirati and Greek roots, as her mother, Zoe Grigorakos, is from Greece.
